  • Offering Autonomy, Flexibility, Support and Earning Opportunities for Associates Seeking a Private Practice Model Internship

    Connective Intelligence is a nonprofit organization and offers psychotherapy (currently in the form of tele-therapy) to individuals and couples throughout the Greater Bay Area and California. We also offer a supportive internship program for pre-licensed clinicians, including Associate Marriage Family Therapists, Associate Social Workers and Associate Professional Clinical Counselors.

    Some opportunities:

    • Develop the clinical and entrepreneurial skills required for success in private practice

    • Create an actual practice that is yours once you are licensed

    • Enter your post-licensure career

    • Retain your client caseload

    • One hour of individual supervision per week, and then another hour of supervision (or a combination of consultations) for over 10 client hours per week.

    • Tax-free employee reimbursement for expenses, such as the cost of supervision or training.

    • Guidance and support to launch your private practice career

    • Assistant with business skills development

    • Opportunities to create workshops.

  • The candidate must meet the following criteria:

    • Have a minimum of a Master’s degree in clinical psychology, counseling, marriage & family therapy, or social work.

    • Have an active California BBS registration to practice as an Associate Marriage & Family Therapist, Associate Clinical Social Worker, or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor and be on the first BBS registration number.

    • BBS registration must not be restricted or have past suspensions or revocations from the Board of Behavioral Sciences.

    • The ability to thoroughly assess and manage crisis situations.

    • Desire to or a beginning skillset to utilize various modalities of treatment including but not limited to psychodynamic, EMDR, emotionally focused therapy, client-centered, and/or CBT.

    • Must enjoy being part of a supportive team and professional work culture.

    • Consistently communicating all clinical issues and concerns to your supervisor.

    • Be willing to work with clients from diverse backgrounds, work with individuals and couples.

    • Meet with clients virtually.

    • Have an active malpractice insurance. (We can guide you through obtaining one.)
